We are in the middle of a series on David. I have so enjoyed these lessons!
It is so interesting to see how God said that David was a man after his own heart (I Samuel 13:14) but also to see that he was SO human and made SO many mistakes. It really helps us to relate to this man of God. It is so easy to feel like we can’t possibly please God because of our struggles. But David’s life shows us how God is concerned with the direction of our hearts. May we continue to examine our hearts and make sure that they are centered on God!
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.(Phil. 4:6-8)
